How to Reset the device

You cannot restart the Galaxy S6 with the usual restart process used on previous existing devices (removing the battery for about 1 minute). This is because the Galaxy S6 comes with an embedded battery or the battery is within the device by itself.

In case you will encounter situations that require phone restart like when the phone is frozen or not responding, you may need to close applications or power off the phone for a few seconds and then turn it back on.

The only way to restart your Galaxy S6 is by:

Pressing and holding the Power button and the Volume button downsimultaneously for about 10 seconds or more until the phone restarts.

If the device is still freezing or unresponsive after the restart, you can try creating memory space, check your device is Safe Mode to terminate any conflicting third-party apps, check for software updates (if available), or perform a factory data reset (last resort) when necessary. If you don’t want to perform hard reset, then contact Samsung Support or your phone carrier for further assistance and recommendations.

How to use Fast Charging

Samsung Galaxy S6 supports Samsung’s Adaptive fast charging feature and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. It comes with a built-in fast charging feature used for charging the battery faster while the phone or its screen is inactive or turned off. The feature utilizes battery charging technology that increases the charging power thus charges the battery faster than normal.

Here’s how to use fast charging on the new Galaxy S6:

  1. Connect your phone directly to a battery charger that supports Adaptive Fast charging or Quick Charge 2.0.
  2. When the phone is connected to the required battery charger, turn the phone or its screen off.

Important Note: The phone screen needs to be off because you cannot use the fast charging feature when the screen is turned on.

The charging speed may decrease automatically, if the phone heats up or the ambient air temperature rises, prevent damage to the device. Also, the charging speed may vary depending on the battery percentage left at the time when charging begins. The remaining charge time can be viewed or checked on the screen but the actual remaining time may differ by charging conditions.
